Donald Trump Names Elon Musk & Vivek Ramaswamy As Heads Of New ‘Department Of Government Efficiency’
President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday (November 12th) that billionaire entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead his new Department of Government Efficiency throughout his second presidential run.
In a statement sharing the news, Trump wrote:
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,”
A CNN report notes that the unprecedented agency’s existence has already begun stirring concerns in Washington, specifically due to Musk’s involvement. Several of his companies already have lucrative deals with the government, making way for possible conflicts of interest.
Trump insisted elsewhere in the announcement, however, that the agency is necessary for the “Save America” movement, adding that he expects the businessmen to significantly cut down the country’s annual $6.5 trillion in government spending by July 4th, 2026, the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Do you think Trump’s new agency will be successful?
