Charles Barkley Criticizes LA Lakers’ Handling Of Bronny James’ Rookie Year: ‘It’s A Bad Look’

Charles Barkley has strong words for the Los Angeles Lakers regarding how they’ve handled rookie Bronny James this season.

On The Bettor Angle podcast, Barkley expressed his belief that the Lakers should take a more developmental approach with Bronny, rather than limiting his playing time:

“They’ve [the Lakers] handled it awfully. This kid isn’t ready to play in the NBA. He should be in the G-League. This thing where he’s only going to play in home games, it’s stupid. It’s not fair to him. It’s not fair to the team. They’re not doing Bronny any favors. It’s a bad look for the Lakers. I really like everything that LeBron’s done, but this is a bad look for him, in my opinion.”

Bronny, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, was drafted by the Lakers in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, and now that the season is well underway, he’s being discussed as a contender for Rookie of the Year.
