Diddy’s Lawyers Argue He Deserves Trump-Level Free-Speech Protections In Bail Fight
Diddy is pulling out all the stops in his fight for freedom, comparing himself to Donald Trump in a recent court filing.
The music mogul’s legal team argued he has the same free-speech rights as Donald Trump, citing a ruling from Trump’s election interference case:
“Only a significant and imminent threat to the administration of criminal justice will support restricting Mr. Trump’s speech.”
They claimed Diddy has a constitutional right to “criticize and speak out against the prosecution” and urged the court to apply the same standard to him.
Prosecutors pushed back, saying Donald Trump’s judges had to balance his right to campaign with ensuring a fair trial.
Meanwhile, if Diddy isn’t granted bail, his Thanksgiving dinner at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center will reportedly consist of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, fruit, and whole bread.
