Jamie Foxx Reveals He Suffered ‘Brain Bleed’ That Led To A ‘Stroke’

Jamie Foxx is going into more detail about his 2023 health scare.

During his new Netflix standup special What Had Happened Was, the multi-hyphenate explained,

“April 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for Aspirin. I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f*ck to do.”

He said before he even took the aspirin he blacked out. He added that a doctor gave him a cortisone shot, however, that made things worse. His sister knew something was wrong and rushed him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. He ultimately blacked out, revealing,

“I don’t remember 20 days.”

A doctor at the hospital told his sister that the star was

“having a brain bleed that has led to a stroke.”

The physician said Jamie Foxx could make it through surgery, however, it would be “the worst year of his life.”

He confessed, “And it was.”

After joking about seeing a tunnel and “the light,” he woke up at a rehab center in Chicago. After undergoing treatment, he’s recovered and explained the essence of his new comedy special.

I lost everything, but the only thing I could hold onto was my sense of humor. If I could stay funny, I could stay alive.”
