Rick James’ 2003 Interview Defending Michael Jackson Against Child Mole$t@tion Charges Resurfaces
Rick James’ 2003 interview with CNN is resurfacing online, sparking renewed attention on his defense of Michael Jackson during the height of the child mole$t@tion charges against the King of Pop.
During the interview, James boldly dismissed the accusations against Jackson, stating,
“Look, Michael loves children, OK? I mean, to be — I mean, I look at it like this. I mean, all this ped*phile crap, you know, why didn’t they go after Elvis Presley? He was the biggest ped*phile of all. He had Priscilla when she was 14, 15. Why didn’t they go after Jerry Lee Lewis? He’s the second biggest ped*phile of all. He married his first cousin. She was 13 years old.”

James went even further, questioning the scrutiny Jackson faced compared to other public figures, adding,
“Why don’t they go after Santa Claus? Why don’t they do psychology references on him? They don’t know who he is. He’s 100,000 different cities and kids sit on his lap, telling him what they want for Christmas.”
