Florida Pastor EJ Newton Detained By Police While Preaching, Says It Was Due To Custody Battle
EJ Newton, pastor of 433 Church in Miami, was detained by police during a recent service.

The situation escalated as authorities allegedly searched church members’ cars and prevented them from leaving the premises.
Newton claimed the incident is tied to a custody dispute and said his ex-wife is accusing him of trying to flee the country amid a parenting schedule case. He clarified,
“I am not fleeing. I never planned to go anywhere. I love my children, and this breaks my heart. My babies do not deserve this. I am a great father.”
Blogger Larry Reid provided more context, stating that the accusations stemmed from Newton’s ex-wife claiming he didn’t return their children after a visit, which led to the police involvement.
