Young Thug’s Atlanta Ban Amended, Allowing Rapper To Travel Through City’s Airport
Young Thug continues to secure small victories amid his 10-year ban from Atlanta, which is part of his 15-year probation.
Reports state that Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker ruled on Tuesday (Jan. 28) that Thug is now allowed to travel through the metro area—but only to reach the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.
This ruling follows a previous decision allowing Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, to spend up to two weeks at a time in his Atlanta home, provided he does not violate his probation within the first three years.

Thug’s ban from Atlanta was part of his sentencing after the YSL RICO case concluded in December. Prosecutors accused the rapper of leading an organized crime ring under the guise of his YSL record label, but he ultimately accepted a plea deal for probation after spending over two years in jail while awaiting a verdict from the trial.
As part of the plea, Thug was sentenced to 15 years of probation and a 10-year ban from metro Atlanta. However, Judge Whitaker has stated that if he successfully completes his probation, the remainder of his sentence will be commuted to time served.
