Teen Charged w/ Murder Breaks Down In Tears After Being Denied Bond At First Hearing
Sean Simpson, the 16-year-old charged with the m*rder of Zaquavious Dawkins, was emotional during his first court appearance in Gaston County, North Carolina, on Wednesday (Jan. 29) after being denied bond.
Simpson faces first-degree m*rder charges in Dawkins’ de@th and attempted m*rder for injuring a second victim after allegedly opening fire on both as they walked down South Chester Street.

Simpson lost his balance from sobbing in the courtroom after the judge informed him he would remain in jail until his trial.
Under a new law that took effect in December 2024, Simpson is being charged as an adult. This case is one of the first to be prosecuted under the law. His next court date is set for February 18, 2025, although it could change if a grand jury indicts him.
