Husband Of ‘Tiger King’ Star Joe Exotic Speaks Out After Being Deported To Mexico: ‘The Cartels Are Very Active Here, I Cannot Even Go Out On The Street’
Joe Exotic’s husband, Jorge Flores Maldonado, is speaking out after being deported to Mexico.
“There is a lot of organized crime here and there is no security,” Jorge told the New York Post. “I am a very famous person, and right now I run the risk of being kidnapped.”
He added,
“The cartels are very active here. I cannot even go out on the street. They think I have money because of my husband.”
According to Joe, Jorge was detained on May 16 and taken to an ICE center for a hearing. However, hours before his court appearance, Jorge was deported.

Joe has since pleaded with President Donald Trump to step in:
“Just let me go to Mexico and you can keep Carole Baskin. I’m exhausted trying to figure out why you won’t listen to the evidence.”
The couple got engaged in October 2024 and were recently married while in prison. Joe is currently serving time for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire.
