Eminem’s Music Publisher Sues Meta, Seeks $109 Million For Alleged Copyright Infringement
Publishing company Eight Mile Style is taking Meta to court for allegedly jacking hundreds of songs from Eminem’s early catalog, seeking over $109 million in damages.
In a lawsuit filed this week, Eight Mile Style accuses the tech company of “unauthorized storage, reproduction and exploitation” of 243 songs across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. According to the suit, Meta used features like Original Audio and Reels Remix to “allow and encourage its users to steal Eight Mile Style’s music without proper attribution or license.”

The company claims Meta continued to store and reproduce the music even after prior complaints and takedowns.
They are seeking $150,000 per song, totaling $109,350,000, and have requested a jury trial.
Although Eminem is not personally involved in the suit, Eight Mile Style was founded by his longtime producers, the Bass Brothers, and controls his music catalog from 1995 to 2005.
