Fredro Starr Says One Of His Lead Actors In Upcoming Movie Dropped Out The Day Before Filming To Work w/ Tyler Perry: ‘Where Does That Leave Me?’
Fredro Starr is facing a last-minute casting shakeup for his upcoming movie.
In an IG video, the rapper, actor, and now director revealed that one of his lead actors bailed on his film just before shooting began to take a role in a Tyler Perry production. Fredro said:
“We’ve been prepping this Tunnel movie for the last month… table reads, actors signing contracts, getting everything together… and we actually start shooting tomorrow. So, one of the lead actors is bailing on me right now. He just got a job with Tyler Perry’s production, and he’s on a plane, and we’re shooting tomorrow.”

Thankfully, the other lead, Deyshaun Tucker, is still on board, but Fredro had to reshuffle the cast:
“Everything happens for a reason, but I’m just saying, the kid had a signed contract. He’s a great actor, and that’s why he had the job. If I was him, I would’ve done the same thing. Working with Tyler Perry, he’s the biggest business. I would’ve done the same thing, but where does that leave me?”
Fredro Starr is making his directorial debut with this movie, which explores NYC’s hip-hop nightclub scene.
