Former NBA Player Ben McLemore Sentenced To 100 Months In Prison For 2021 R@pe At Teammate’s House Party
Former NBA player Ben McLemore was sentenced to 100 months in Oregon state prison after being convicted of r*ping a 21-year-old woman at a 2021 Lake Oswego party.
A Clackamas County jury found him guilty of first-degree r*pe, first-degree unlawful s*xual penetration, and second-degree s*xual ab*se.
“Many people are often afraid to report this type of conduct,” said prosecutor Scott Healy. “Hopefully the victim’s strength and courage… will give others the fortitude to come forward.”
McLemore later stated, “Even in this dark moment, I believe in the power of grace and redemption.”
His lawyer, Kristen Winemiller, called for a “second look” process. The victim, who spoke via video, said, “These last few years have often felt like a weight that I’ve had to drag behind me… I now understand… why so many victims hesitate or never report what happened.”
McLemore, who last played in the NBA in 2022, had been overseas before U.S. Marshals arrested him in 2024.
