New Surveillance Video Shows 7-Year-Old Abducted At Gunpoint Before Being Found Safe Hours Later

Jamal White is safe, but his family is still shaken.

New surveillance footage shows the 7-year-old being abducted at gunpoint Friday night (July 11) in Milwaukee, prompting a statewide Amber Alert and nearly 24 hours of fear before he was found alive Saturday evening.

In the video, a white Jeep was shown pulling up near North 61st and Hustis as Jamal rode his bike home from the park. Two people jumped out. One chased Jamal’s father into the house. The other ran after Jamal, grabbed him, and took off in the Jeep.

He was found in a home seven miles away the next evening. Police still haven’t released a motive or said whether the suspects knew the family.

“I’m glad he’s OK, but it’s kind of like, I feel like I still can’t rest because who would do something like this to a 7-year-old?” Jamal’s aunt Simone White told WISN12.

“We literally cannot thank the community enough because I genuinely feel like if it wasn’t for everybody just caring about this seven-year-old boy, we probably would not have found him.”

As of July 14, a 25-year-old man was in custody in connection with the incident.
