Kamala Harris Reveals She’s Not Looking To Re-Enter Politics, Citing “Broken” System
Kamala Harris is stepping away from the political spotlight indefinitely. In her first sit-down since leaving office, the former Vice President told Stephen Colbert she has no current plans to run for public office.

She called the U.S. political system “broken” and said she does not want to re-enter a space that, in her view, continues to fail the American people.
Harris confirmed she will not be running for California governor in 2026 and expressed hesitation about a possible 2028 presidential bid. She said she wants to reconnect with everyday people without asking them for their votes.
Although she is stepping back from electoral politics, Harris says she remains committed to public service. She also announced her upcoming memoir, 107 Days, which will detail her 2024 campaign and her time in the White House.
