Gayle King Pushes Back at Reports She’s Leaving CBS Mornings
Gayle King is setting the record straight after reports surfaced claiming she was preparing to leave CBS Mornings.
Speaking outside the network’s New York studio on October 31, 2025, King told TMZ that the chatter about her future doesn’t match what she’s been told internally. While she didn’t fully rule out the possibility of eventually moving on, she made it clear that—for now—she’s focused on her current role.
“I’m here now and intend to keep doing my job,” King said.
CBS News also weighed in on the rumors, shutting down claims that she’s planning an imminent exit.
“There have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026,” a CBS spokesperson told TMZ. “She’s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.”
The response follows widespread speculation about King’s long-term plans with the morning show, which she has co-anchored for years. For now, King says she’s focused on staying present—despite the headlines suggesting otherwise.
