NBA Star Tristan Thompson Seeks Conservatorship Of Disabled Brother Amari Thompson-Requests Control Over Medical Care, Social Media & Personal Decisions
Tristan Thompson has reportedly filed new legal paperwork seeking conservatorship over his younger brother, Amari Thompson, following years of caring for him after a devastating family loss.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Tristan — who previously had Amari under a guardianship — is now asking the court to appoint a conservator to oversee his brother’s records, approve medical treatment, and make educational decisions on his behalf.
The filing also states Tristan wants authority to manage Amari’s “social and s*xual contacts,” a request that has drawn public attention.
As previously reported, Tristan and Amari’s mother, Andrea Brooks, died on January 5, 2023. Tristan says he stepped in to care for Amari after her passing.
He also claims their father, Trevor Thompson, has been absent for years, failed to pay child support, and has not contacted Amari since July 2014.
