Cardi B Case Over Woman’s Mic-Throw Claim At Vegas Show Headed For 2027 Jury Trial
The mic-throwing case involving #CardiB is moving forward.
Cardi’s civil case in Clark County is officially heading toward trial, with a jury trial set within a five-week window starting October 11, 2027, according to court docs obtained by Document Tingz. The trial is expected to last about two weeks, including three days for jury selection, though the exact start date could shift depending on the court’s schedule. In the meantime, a series of deadlines and hearings have been put in place to keep things on track, and the judge made it clear there could be serious consequences, including fines or even dismissal, if either side misses deadlines or fails to show up.
ICYMI, the lawsuit stems from a July 29, 2023, performance at Drai’s Beachclub in #LasVegas, where Cardi asked the crowd to splash water on her while onstage due to the heat. According to the suit, at some point during the set, a woman identified as Jane Doe threw water and ice in Cardi’s face, prompting the Magnet artist to toss her microphone into the crowd, allegedly striking Doe.
Cardi later said in an interview that the woman splashed her several songs after she first asked fans to help cool her down. However, Doe claims the rapper continued encouraging the crowd to wet her and even poured water on herself. The woman alleges the mic hit caused injury and emotional distress, and she’s suing for assault, battery and negligence, along with a separate negligence claim against Drai’s Management Group.
