Floyd Mayweather Exhibition Fight Against Kickboxer Mike Zambidis Canceled Amid Breach Of Contract Lawsuit

Floyd Mayweather’s latest exhibition fight is off before he ever threw a punch.

The planned six-round bout against Mike Zambidis in Athens, #Greece, set for Saturday (June 27), has been scrapped, according to federal court records filed Thursday (June 25). The cancellation stems from a lawsuit filed by CSI, an events company that had contracted Mayweather for two other fights, alleging breach of contract and seeking an emergency injunction to block the event. Attorney Melissa Glass informed the court that CSI’s legal actions had effectively shut down any promotion or distribution plans and halted ticket sales, making it no longer commercially or operationally feasible to proceed.

The financial fallout is significant on all sides, with Promoter Keane Anis of Front Row claiming his company spent or committed around $7 million on the fight, including $3 million already paid to #Mayweather, along with travel expenses for his team. The door isn’t entirely closed, however — attorney Glass noted the bout could potentially be rescheduled depending on the outcome of the still-pending injunction ruling.
