Here For It? André 3000 Joins Netflix’s Live-Action ‘Scooby-Doo: Origins’ In Mysterious Recurring Role

André 3000 is stepping back into acting with a role in Netflix’s upcoming live-action “Scooby-Doo” series.

The Outkast legend, whose full name is André Benjamin, has joined “Scooby-Doo: Origins” in a recurring role alongside actress Cathy Moriarty. Details about Benjamin’s character are being kept under wraps.

The series is currently filming in Atlanta and is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2027. The main Mystery Inc. lineup includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma and Mckenna Grace as Daphne.

Benjamin’s casting adds another acting credit to a career that has extended well beyond music. He previously appeared in films including “Idlewild,” “Be Cool,” “Four Brothers” and the Jimi Hendrix biopic “Jimi: All Is By My Side.” His television credits include “The Shield,” “American Crime” and “Dispatches From Elsewhere.”

Netflix describes the series as a modern reimagining of the classic franchise.

“During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy (Hagen) and Daphne (Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” the official logline reads.
