After years of fan demand, Tyler finally released the third installment of his “Why Did I Get Married?” film franchise, “Why Did I Get Married Again?” Several members of the original cast returned for the latest installment, though #JanetJackson did not reprise her role. Taraji P. Henson, meanwhile, was added to the cast. But despite the star-studded lineup and longtime calls for the story to continue, the film has sparked plenty of mixed reactions online.

“Man Tyler perry could’ve kept that movie. The plot felt rushed it was no clear ending. Worse part he took some phenomenal actors and had them provide some mid performances,” one person said. Echoing those sentiments, another added, “Somewhere along the years, [Tyler Perry] lost the art of storytelling.”

The debate over the film and Tyler’s creative process is currently heating up on #Threads, and not everyone is here for the criticism. “Please stop watching Tyler Perry movies if you hate it . It was a good movie … We try and tear down our own way to often but don’t do this with any other movies we are watching,” one viewer said. Others came to Tyler’s defense, pointing to the opportunities he’s provided Black actors over the years, with one person adding, “He’s a billionaire who puts his money where his mouth is and that I respect!”
