[UPDATE] “BMF” Actor Da Vinchi Clears The Air On Controversial Remarks About Black
Americans, Admits He Could’ve Chosen His Words Better
“BMF” actor #DaVinchi is clearing the air after facing major backlash over his controversial remarks about Black Americans.
During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” the Haitian-American actor acknowledged that he could’ve chosen his words more carefully, while pushing back against claims that he specifically called Black Americans incompetent. He also disputed accusations that he told Black Americans to forget about slavery, insisting his comments had been misinterpreted.
ICYMI: Da’Vinchi landed in hot water following an appearance on #CamNewton’s “Funky Friday” podcast, where he discussed alleged differences in work ethic and upbringing between Americans and people from other countries. His remarks about Americans being allowed to remain “incompetent for a really long time,” along with his comments about slavery, sparked outrage online, with critics accusing him of perpetuating negative stereotypes about Black Americans and downplaying the lasting impact of slavery. The controversy even earned him Charlamagne Tha God’s “Donkey of the Day.”
#TJBCrew, how are y’all feeling about Da’Vinchi’s latest comments as he attempts to set the record straight?
