Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens Urges Schools & Employers To Let Students & Workers Watch Atlanta Dream’s WNBA Finals Game: ‘Let Them DREAM!’

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is asking schools and businesses across the city to give students and employees a little grace as the Atlanta Dream fight for their first WNBA championship.

On Tuesday, October 27, Dickens shared an open letter on Instagram encouraging educators and employers to allow people to watch Thursday’s championship matchup against the Golden State Valkyries.

“On Thursday, October 29, I’m asking you to show a little love and extend a little grace to your students and employees who may be cheering on the Atlanta Dream,” Dickens wrote.

The request comes after the WNBA moved Game 6 from 8 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, placing the matchup directly during school and work hours. The Dream trail the Valkyries 3-2 in the best-of-seven series and must win to keep their championship hopes alive.

“After all, Atlanta is a group project, and every Atlantan has a role to play!” Dickens continued.

“So don’t make your students or employees sneak a peek at the game. Be the supportive leaders we know you are.”

He concluded with an enthusiastic message:

“Do it for the A! Let them watch. Let them cheer. Let them DREAM! ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM!”

Will you be watching?
