Everybody wants access. But access to who? And what happens after you get it?
That’s the idea behind CONNECT, a curated experience created by media entrepreneur and theJasmineBrand founder Jasmine Brand to bring women from different industries, backgrounds and stages of success into the same room.
On October 24, Jasmine hosted her second CONNECT experience in Washington, D.C., bringing together 35 women at Black woman-owned Mixxed Food & Drinks.
The guest list was intentional. No repeat attendees from August. Different industries, different experiences and women who might not otherwise cross paths.
“I’m not interested in hosting another event where everybody exchanges Instagram handles, takes a few pictures, and never speaks again,” Jasmine explained in a new recap video.
The afternoon featured brunch, introductions and conversations designed to go beyond job titles and follower counts.
“I want women leaving Connect with a relationship they didn’t have when they walked in. Maybe it’s a friendship, maybe it’s a business opportunity, maybe it’s just a conversation they didn’t know they needed.”
The experience also spotlighted businesses and supporters who contributed to curated gift bags:
• Moore & Moore Creative @themerchstudio
• Beyond Self Care @estherbmft
• Capitol Public Relations @capitolpublicrelations
• CocoXo @cocoxos1
• Crystal Coates @ceetheactress
• Zen in a Jar @zeninajar
Next up? CONNECT is headed to New York City in January 2027, with another DC gathering potentially happening in December.
“Different women, different cities, same intention.”
