Rumor Control: Driver Did Not ‘Hit & Run’, Police Seek Help In Natina Reed’s Death
Over the weekend, we shared the tragic news that R&B singer, Natina Reed (formerly of the popular 90’s group ‘Blaque’) had been killed in a car accident. Initially, reports stated that Natina had been in a ‘hit-and-run’ and struck by a car. According to AJC, Sgt. Rich Long explained that:
“As of right now, it does not appear that the driver has any fault in this event,”
And contrary was was initially reported, the driver did not leave the scene, but contacted police, and is not expected to be charged. .A press release also confirmed the same information,
“Preliminary information indicates that Reed was in the roadway on Lawrenceville Highway near Hamilton Road when struck….[tThe driver ] was determined to be not at fault and there are no charges pending.”
To date, investigators are still trying to determine why Natina was in the roadway and whether she was crossing or walking alongside it. Sgt. Long and authorities said that they would like to speak
“anyone who might have information about anything that could help us determine why she was there, anything to help us understand how this came together”.
