Ear Hustlin’: Basketball Wives LA Fires Four Cast Members + Network Pissed About Gloria’s Secret Wedding

For the past two weeks, we’ve all speculated on a recent tweet from Basketball Wives LA producer, Shaunie O’Neal. After two seasons, the show has started to see a serious dip in ratings. Shaunie also made a comment on twitter, suggesting that the show (which she created) needed a serious make-over.

Recently, Laura Govan (one of the original cast members) spoke out, agreeing with Shaunie’s comments, but suggesting that people that are REAL housewives be kept on board. Fast forward to the present day, TMZ has shared a rumor suggesting that the network has plans to fire four of it’s cast members.

So who got the boot? Reportedly, Gloria and Laura Govan, Malaysia Pargo and Brooke Bailey. The only two remaining cast members will be Jackie Christie and Draya Michelle. So what’s triggered the firings? We think the ratings have played a huge role, while rumor has it that an incident with Gloria triggered it. Allegedly, Gloria would not let the producers film the wedding to her NBA baller husband, Matt Barnes. Apparently, she wanted their wedding to be private and not aired on the show. You’ll recall that her ceremony was UBER hush-hush. In fact, the show didn’t know that they were jumping the broom, and found out like the rest of us (via the internet). What’s more? The four that are allegedly being fired, haven’t been officially told yet, which is pretty common practice. After the news hit, most of the cast had very little to say about the rumor EXCEPT Draya, who subliminally tweeted:

What do we think? The crew hasn’t even filmed the reunion show yet, but it’s obvious that there will be some firings. As to who, we do think it’s highly likely that those cuts may very well be executed. Draya and Jackie Christie do seem to be the two popular cast members (especially since these two can’t seem to get along), so keeping them makes marketing sense. Anywho, only time will tell. What do you think about the rumored firings? Spot-on, or should they scrap the entire cast and start fresh? P.S. Ain’t it sorta-kinda effed up when the world finds out you’re fired, before you? #Ouch.

is draya pregnant? that silver dress looks suspect. but anyway, to her point, does that mean that there is some truth to the rumors that she would leave her young son to fend for himself while she stripped and traveled with chris brown and whomever else? And that there’s some truth to the rumors that the boy would wait until a car drove in to get inside his complex and make himself tv dinners in a filthy apartment? ..Oh, ok.

scrap the whole show…and if they don’t, at least the Govan’s are gone.

Hold up. Why (if true) is Draya staying! Even though I’m not here for Gloria, she has a point. Actual wives need to be on the show for one. I’m not interested in the least, watching an “urban model” who has no ties to the NBA at all. I’m done with this show! No one seems to care about quality…they only want the ratings that come along with drama and controversy! Sidenote: When is Eva show, Tia&Tamer, and Mary Mary coming on! THOSE are good reality shows!

Scrap the entire show. Enough of grown women and “OlD” woman showing how silly and stupid they can be. Who cares about their lives and what they do. No wives accept two and the others are just jump offs!!

I haven’t really kept up with this season of Basketball Wives simply because it has been pretty boring. My roommate on the other hand is devoted to anything that has the word “housewives” in it. So our Hopper has been set to record every episode of the show this season and she usually catches up after work. In my opinion this show should have gotten the axe as a whole after three or so episodes. All the women on this show are crazy and don’t really have anything to offer other than the drama. How can you justify keeping this show on the air when the ratings have abysmal? My DISH co-worker is pretty excited that the Govan sisters may be on their way out. Either way, I don’t care. This show wasn’t on my must-watch list anyway. I do have to say that I don’t blame the network for being angry about a secret wedding, There isn’t a whole lot of reality going on if they can’t film it.

If these rumors are true I will not be a happy fan. Draya, I like, but keeping bi-polar Jackie is not a smart move. Only to keep it absolutely crazy. Jackie should be the one to go and Bambi. Ummmm why is she on there Malaysia doesn’t need a body guard. Bambi has gotten more air time than some of the original cast so far and its not the Wanna be Basketball wife who tries to rap. I just need to stop watching. Its going on the crazy side and Jackie is driving the bus.

I never understood why Bambi, Draya, or Laura was on the show they weren’t dating B Ball players and it seemed when they cast Bambi, Malaysia was just getting her friend a job because the producers were desperate for someone to fill the time with.

They need to get rid of jackie christie. She is all kinds of crazy and i will not watch the show if that idiot is back on for season 3.

The “ballers” are rarely on the show, and personality always shines brighter than status, especially on television. Women will not tune in to mindless material just because someone is married. It has to have some substance and we must identify with the characters. Change the name of the show! Filter out Laura, Brooke, and that . chick. Everyone adores Malaysia, wants to look and be like Draya, have the career of Gloria, and knows someone as confused as Jackie. Being under the scrutiny of Shaunie as a producer is detrimental to cast members and viewers alike, as we’ve seen Shaunie is not above discrimination of others based of unjust bias. Talk about an unprofessional boss. This is Draya’s time to shine and she should launch her own series of reality television as I’m sure her personal life is much more exciting and relative to targeted viewers. As her and Brooke hang with the same social scene it wouldn’t be a bad idea to keep those two on and make a separate show altogether. Definitely Self-produced,though. Take that envious hag Shaunie out of the picture. She doesn’t know how to assert herself herself anyways, only step on others to get ahead. At her age she should know better. And LEAD a better production.

If those are the two their keeping then I won’t b watching! I don’t like Jackie and Draya is …I liked the four they are listing to get rid of. I feel Gloria wedding have been private because no matter there was a show or not. They would have got married and it should be drama free… I wish they would keep all but Jackie and Malaysia(she is two faced just as Jackie)
