Where Was Oprah Winfrey During President Obama’s Inauguration?
Were we the only ones who noticed that Oprah was noticeably absent during the President Obama’s Inauguration? While we were swept in with the history that was being made, Ms.Winfrey was nowhere to be found. The history between these two is pretty deep. Oprah gave her first ever political endorsement to the then unknown young senator from Illinois. She even popped-up at some political events along the campaign trail + attended several events during the 2009 inauguration. This go ’round? Not so much. She attended a fundraising event at Tyler Perry’s house in Atlanta in early 2012, donated to the campaign and interviewed the couple late last year but hasn’t spoken (at least publicly) one word about him. The 58-year-old OWN Network owner was nowhere near the nations capital…but guess where she was? Canada. According to Oprah.com, she was wrapping up a sold out three-city speaking tour in Calgary. From what we can tell, she was in Canada filming for an upcoming show. Anywho, peep the pix.
