Popular Radio Personality Angie Martinez Moves to Competitor Power 105
Yesterday (June 18th), New York radio listeners were shocked to learn that Angie Martinez had resigned from Hot 97. After 25 years in radio, Angie, who many called the ‘Voice of New York’, used Instagram to share her announcement.
Speculation began IMMEDIATELY about her next venture. Thursday morning, just 24 hours after her departure, even more radio news was shared. Angie will stay on radio, but at a competitive radio station, Power 105.
The Breakfast Club hosts (DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne the God) confirmed the news and said that she’d be moving to the afternoon slot (similar to Hot 97) from 2 p.m. — 6 p.m. Since Power 105 is syndicated, Angie will be heard in New York and The Beat in Miami.
