[EXCLUSIVE] Spike Lee Forced to Return to Court Over George Zimmerman Tweet
The director fired back at the lawsuit claiming he had already settled the issue with the couple and paid them the $10K, which released him from all liable from any future legal actions by the McClain’s.
Then on July 23rd, the Seminole County, FL judge granted Lee’s motion to dismiss and closed the case awarding the McClain’s nothing out of the $1.2 million they demanded. The judge sided with Lee due to him already settling with the couple prior to the suit being filed and thus he agreed they had no case.
Now, the McClain’s filed docs in court stating they are demanding the appeal court review the decision since they believe the order was incorrectly made and they are demanding the dismissal be reversed. The couple will argue they deserve $1.2 million in damages from the director over his tweet that caused them harm — and Spike will have to return to court, in his attempt to get the legal battle dismissed once and for all.
