However, once he showed up they told him they were actually interested in becoming his boxing promoter. He informed them he already had a deal with Star Boxing and Banner Promotions and told Roc Nation execs they would have to talk to them about purchasing his promotional rights. The execs said they would pay up to 2 million for him.

Then around October 2014, Star Boxing obtained a fight with Showtime for Andrade to fight Jernell Charlo for $550k. They also offered him future fights and license fees in the future bouts.

Roc Nation plead with the boxer to cancel the fight and claimed Jay-Z told execs that he would pay the boxer the $550k to NOT participate in the deal negotiated by Star Boxing. He says that he rejected the Showtime offer shortly after and Roc Nation even called him in for a meeting which included Jay Z, where he was told he would be getting the 550k check.

However, the boxer claimed that he was never paid a dime of the $550k and the company never purchased his promotional rights from Star Boxing. He filed suit for breach of contract and demanded Roc Nation be ordered to pay him the $550k.

Then recently, Jay Z’s Roc Nation fired back at the legal battle blasting the boxer accusing him of looking for a easy payday. They state that Andrade a “professional boxer who once held a championship belt – brings this baseless action against a well-known and highly-visible sports management organization in the hopes that scurrilous allegations might bring him a payday without lifting a glove”.

Roc Nation explains that they attempted to negotiate with his current promoters to work out a deal to purchase his rights, but they were unsuccessful.

The company says Andrade knows they tried and this lawsuit is nothing more than a “blatant money grab and obvious attempt to offset the downward spiral of his boxing career that was atrophied by nothing other than his actions in and out of the ring and his promoters negligence in guiding his career … rather than earn his money in the ring, plaintiff would prefer to do so in the courtroom”.

Roc Nation is demanding the entire case be dismissed immediately.
