“Freeway” Ricky Ross Arrested While Carrying $100k [Thug Life]
Ross was released in 2009, after being convicted in 1996 of conspiring to buy more than 100 kilograms of cocaine from a police informant. He had two prior drug convictions in Texas and Ohio. His sentence was reduced in 2005 from 20 to 16 1/2 years.
After his release, Ross made headlines after suing rapper Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts. He claimed the artist used his name for fame and profit.
His life and the lawsuit were documented this year in the film “Freeway: Crack in the System.”
Ross posted the following message on Facebook, in response to his recent arrest:
To everyone despite what has been said about me in the media this past weekend, I’m okay & this is just another attempt to drag my name through the mud.#TripleOG #crackinthesystem #iamfreewayrickross #iwillbettermypeople #TherealRickRoss #FreewayRickyRoss
