(EXCLUSIVE) Ex NBA Star Alonzo Mourning Sues Company Over Endorsement Deal

The NBA star signed a 5-year deal with Gilly National to allow them to use his image and likeness to promote their vending machine company along with having his face on a number of machines.

Per the agreement, Gilly was to report all sales and revenues to Mourning generated every month. The first year the NBA star was to be paid $110k for the first year, $121k the 2nd year, then $133k (3rd year), $146k (4th year) and $161k for the last year for a grand total of $671,540 for the full 5 year contract. The amount due for each year was to be paid in 4 equal payments.

Mourning was also to be the face of at least 250 vending machines and would be paid 15% of the net profit generated by the machines. He was to assist in marketing, make 2 special appearances for the company, host the annual Gilly Healthy Snack event, meet with corporate sponsors and autograph up to 50 items for packages.

Mourning has filed suit for unspecified compensatory damages, pre-judgement interest and other costs for their breach of the contract.
