Beyonce Wanted Too Much Money For “A Star Is Born” Role
It’s highly unlikely that we’ll see Beyonce in the remake of ‘A Star Is Born’. The film, which was planning to be Bradley Cooper’s directing debut, will not feature the mega star, according to Page Six.
Reportedly, Warner Bros. was negotiating with Cooper to direct and star in the remake of the 1950s musical. Beyoncé was to play the lead, a young woman whose dreams of stardom are helped by an aging icon.
A source tells the outlet,
Beyoncé wanted too much money, and Warner Bros. balked at her price. The production budget was also said to be an issue with the studio, so the project has fallen apart.
However, another source claimed,
Bradley has started reading scripts for his next acting project. But the ‘Star Is Born’ project remains in development and Bradley is still involved.
A third source reveals,
This project is something Bradley has been involved with for a long time. It has gone on the back burner, but he’s still working on it, among other projects.
Beyonce’s camp has yet to publicly comment. [Page Six]
