Yolanda Adams Blasts Kim Burrell, Over Bishop Eddie Long AIDS Comments
Yolanda Adams Blasts Kim Burrell, Defends Eddie Long
The backlash for gospel artist and pastor Kim Burrell continues. Gospel artist Yolanda Adams is defending Bishop Eddie Long and gay people on social media. While she didn’t call out Burrell by name, Adams did takeĀ to Instagram, writing:
As a Person who has Gay Relatives and Friends, I had to put these Words in the Atmosphere to combat the unwarranted and unproven attack on My Friend #BishopLong.
Hateful Words are never profitable to the Cause of Christ in the World. Jesus said “They will know you by your Love.” LOVE YALL
Yolanda’s specific comments about Bishop Long, address the remarksĀ that Burrell made during her controversial sermon. While preaching, Burrell alluded that people believe Long has AIDS because of claims by other gay men. She stated,
I’ve never seen anything as heartbreaking as watching Bishop Eddie Long go down to nothing. It is an embarrassment to the Church. ‘Cause nobody would be making that you have AIDS unless a homosexual man didn’t come out and reveal what you did behind closed doors … they have yet to deny it.
See a part of Burrell’s sermon below.
Burrell has since released a video, clarifying the comments that she made during her sermon.
