Ex NFL Star Lawrence Taylor Pleads Guilty In DUI

theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, ex NFL star Lawrence Taylor has narrowly avoided jail time in his DUI case. A judge has sentenced him to 75 hours community service, ordered him to complete a DUI class and pay $1,500 in fines.

Here’s the latest: On June 19th, Taylor was sentenced by the judge in the case and
narrowly avoided being thrown in jail. Taylor reached a plea deal in the case where he plead guilty to driving under the influence. He will pay restitution to the victim, enroll and complete DUI school and complete 75 hours of community service. Taylor will also complete a victim impact panel session, must not possess or consume any alcohol or drugs, submit to random alcohol/drug test at his expense and he must install an ignition interlock device in his car and keep in for 6 months – which forces him to take a breathalyzer test prior to starting his car.

The judge also ordered him to pay $1,476 in criminal court costs. Taylor entered a plea of nolle prose on the 2nd charge of driving under the influence causing injury to person or property. He will be on probation for 12 months and his Driver’s License will be revoked
for 9 months.

Here’s the backstory: Back in September, Taylor was arrested and booked for DUI in Florida after he allegedly crashed his Bentley into a police cruiser and mobile home around 5pm.

According to reports, he was driving in Palm Beach Gardens when he
lost control of his luxury car and hit the two cars. The police noted in their report that he reeked of alcohol and cigars, had bloodshot eyes and wasn’t steady on his feet. He blew a .084 during a breathalyzer test 5 hours after the crash. He was arrested after he failed field sobriety tests at the scene.

The former NFL star plead not guilty to the DUI charges and was facing up to 2 years in jail if convicted. A pretrial hearing has been set for next month in Florida Court.
