Michael K. Williams Cast In “Superfly” Remake

Michael K. Williams has been cast in the upcoming “Superfly” remake. Directed by Director X, The Wire alum will play the role of Scatter.

The film, which hits theaters June 15th, is based on the 1972 original blaxploitation crime drama, which followed African American cocaine dealer who tries to secure one more deal before getting out of the business. Others already cast in the project include Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell, Lex Scott Davis, Andrea Londo, Jacob Ming-Trent, Omar Chapparo, Allen Maldonado and Esai Morales.

In addition to The Wire, Williams’ notable credits include Boardwalk Empire, Bessie, The Road, Inherent Vice, The Night Of, Gone Baby Gone, and 12 Years a Slave.

        Yes he was on the Queen Latifah Show when she had it and they are old friends. It was such a nice interview. Then she showed a snippet of Crystal Waters old video, “I want your love” And had the arrow pointing to Michael as he was dancing! It was nice and he looked fly in his suit he wore to the interview too. Check it out on youtube. :)
