Danielle Herrington Covers Sports Illustrated Swimsuit
Danielle Herrington has landed the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. The 24-year-old model, who is from Compton, California, is the third black woman to cover SI Swim since the franchise began in 1964.
Prior to Herrington, Tyra Banks was the first to cover the magazine alongside Valeria Mazza in 1996, followed by a solo cover in 1997. Beyoncé landed the cover in 2007.
Herrington said of landing the cover,
Two of my role models are Tyra Banks and Beyoncé, so the fact that I get to join this incredible group of women as I become the third black model on the cover of SI Swimsuit is a dream come true. I am so excited to be part of this iconic brand that has long given identity and voice to women of all shapes, colors and beliefs. I hope that young girls who look at this cover are inspired to dream as big as I did and work hard to attain all their goals.
Congrats to her!

Come TF on! These girls are barely even black. Shit, they aren’t black! I said it. Having one black parent and one other parent makes you mixed/interracial/mulatto…which means, you’re definitely NOT black.
It made me raise a brow as well. I don’t know who she is, but I want to see some darker skin on the cover of the magazine. They get praise for doing shit on the sly, just how Coco wanna say she made big butts poppin. Or like when they put a white curvy woman on the cover and got praise. Put a BLACK curvy woman on the cover, then we’ll have something to acknowledge!
And they don’t get praise for putting a black woman on the cover once every 10 years! Demand more!
How tf are they not Black? Black ppl range. Gtfoh. My mom is very light with lose dark curly hair and green eyes. Both of her parents are Black. You all sound ridiculous.
Sounds like your grandfather accepted a Jacket. Congratulations to him.
