Tina Lawson’s ‘From Waco to Wakanda’ Bash
Over the weekend, Tina Lawson and husband Richard Lawson hosted their 2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala. Held at Los Angeles’ Alexandria Ballrooms, the theme was called ‘From Waco to Wakanda’ and was inspired by the hit Marvel film, Black Panther. Attendees wore African inspired attire.
Tina’s daughter, Beyonce, was honored for her humanitarian work, along with Jay-Z’s mother, Gloria Carter. Bey was accompanied by her daughter Blue Ivy and husband Jay-Z. Others in attendance included Beyonce’s sister Solange, Kandi Burruss and her daughter Riley, Magic Johnson and wife Cookie Johnson, Star Jones (who emceed the event), Tyler Perry, Lala Anthony, Angie Beyince, Samuel L Jackons and wife, Lisa Raye, Vivica Fox, Lil Rel Howrey and Angela Rye.
One of the highlights of the evening was 6-year-old Blue Ivy bidding $19,000 on a portrait of Sidney Poitier by artist Tiffanie Anderson.
