Instagram Users Will Now Be Able to Upload Hour Long Videos W/ New Feature IGTV
Instagram has just launched a new feature called IGTV. The feature allows users to develop and create content that is in the form of a video and the length of the video can be up to an hour long. The videos are frameworked to be displayed in vertical/long form much like many user’s cell phones (Android and iOS). Instagram users will be able to access the new feature from the original Instagram app or by downloading the separate IGTV app.
Aside from the aforementioned features, the app will carry similar aspects like a television in your home. Such as, when you open the app, video content will automatically be playing. You will be able to swipe up to scan for different videos where users will be able to decipher between “For You,” “Following,” “Popular,” and “Continue Watching.” Much like videos on Instagram, users will also be able to like, comment and send videos to friends via direct messaging.
Another aspect is creators will be considered the channels. Instagram, the app, encourages that any of its users can be creators. When you follow someone on Instagram, their channel will be available for you to watch immediately. Users will be able to upload hour long videos from their phone or computer.
The social media platform broke the news Wednesday in San Francisco at a conference held for the creators who will initially be apart of IGTV community.
