Suge Knight Faces 28 Years In Prison After Pleading No Contest To Manslaughter
Suge Knight has been in jail since 2015, awaiting trial for a hit-and-run that left one dead on the set of Straight Outta Compton. On Thursday, the 53-year-old former rap mogul took a plea deal in which he pleaded no contest to the manslaughter of Terry Carter.
In January 2015, Suge Knight was involved in a confrontation in Compton, California while on the set of the forthcoming blockbuster Straight Outta Compton. Suge was accused of running over two men with his truck following an argument. Cle Sloan, 51, was injured while Terry Carter, 55, passed away.
Knight was arrested and charged with one count murder, one count attempted murder and other counts a week later. He’s been in jail ever since facing possible life imprisonment. While incarcerated, he’s suffered a number of health issues, including fainting in court and loss of vision.
In exchange for his plea for a lesser sentence, Suge Knight now faces 28 years in prison. The other criminal cases against him will be dismissed.
