Gladys Knight will be singing the national anthem before kickoff at Super Bowl LIII. Knight, who was born and raised in Atlanta, confirmed she would be filling the spot in a tweet,

Knight has not been met with much backlash as her musical opposites, Big Boi and Travis Scott, but according to a statement released on the NFL website, she did say,
I am proud to use my voice to unite and represent our country in my hometown of Atlanta. The NFL recently announced their new social justice platform Inspire Change, and I am honored to be a part of its inaugural year.
