John Singleton – Rep Says Reports He Died Are False, Director On Life Support
Prayers are going out for John Singleton. Reports have circulated that the Oscar-nominated director of films like Boyz In The Hood and Poetic Justice has passed away at 51. There are conflicting reports of whether Singleton has died.
One of his reps said that reports of his death are not true.

Just moments before publications said he passed Monday, TMZ reported that Singleton was in a medically-induced coma as he was non-responsive and on life support. His family released a statement following the stroke.
On Wednesday, April 17th our beloved son/father, John Singleton, suffered a stroke while at the hospital. John is currently in the ICU and under great medical care. We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and appreciate all of the prayers that have been pouring in from his fans, friends and colleagues.Thank you, The Singleton Family.
Still, his daughter, Cleopatra, has also said that he was not in a coma.
“My father is not in a coma. [Doctors] do not have a concrete diagnosis, [but] my dad is progressing every day. My father is breathing on his own. He is only medically sedated to keep his blood pressure low and allow the vessels in his brain to heal.”
His family has said to be at odds over the condition of his health and his $35 million estate.
Prayers for John Singleton and his family, friends and fans during this time.
