Update: Wendy Williams Son Arrested For Assault, After Fight With Dad

Update: Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Jr, has reportedly been arrested for assault. Reportedly, the night before the physical altercation, the pair had a heated discussion about Kevin Jr needing to carve out his own path. Kevin Sr also tells TMZ,

“I love my son very much and I will not be pursuing this matter legally. Things are not always how they appear.”

Here’s the backstory: As daytime talk show host Wendy Williams continues to move forward after filing for divorce from her husband of 20 years, Kevin Hunter, there is serious new drama brewing within the family. According to reports, a physical altercation occurred between Williams’ son Kevin Hunter Jr. and his father.

Reportedly a fight recently took place between Williams’ 18-year-old son Kevin Jr, and her soon-to-be ex-husband Kevin Hunter.

According to reports, police were called after Hunter and his son got into an argument that turned physical in the early morning hours of May 22^nd while they were at a local store parking lot close to their New Jersey family home. Inside sources state that Williams took her son to the New Jersey home to retrieve something, while she left for a bit before intending to come to pick him back up later.

Sources add that when Kevin Jr. went inside the home, he was unaware that his father was there, but things between them were fine until they ventured out to a local store a little after midnight. Once the father/son duo made their way to the parking lot, and intense argument erupted over Hunter’s demand for spousal support from Williams—Hunter also reportedly claimed that Kevin Jr. was being “brainwashed” by his mother.

Things quickly got out of control when Hunter allegedly placed his son in a headlock, resulting in Kevin Jr. punching him in the face in order to remove himself from the physical restriction. Police were called and an investigation into the incident has been launched.

At press time, there has been no public word from either Williams or Hunter regarding the fight.
