Lil Wayne Skips Another Blink-182 Show Due to “Plane Issues,” Teases Upcoming “Funeral” Album

Has Lil Wayne ditched his tour with Blink-182 to finish a new album? Last month, he abruptly left a show on a 38-stop tour with the 90’s rock band, hinting that he may not finish the rest of the dates. He said:

“I just want the people to know, please forgive me, but I am so not used to performing to a crowd where there is not too many. That’s not my swag, I’m not sure how long I’m gonna be able to do this tour…But make some noise for Blink-182 for including me anyway. This might be my last night though.”

Lil Wayne, later, reassured fans that he would finish the obligation of performing for the rest of the tour.

Irvine, CA fans encountered a disappointing state of deja vu last night (8/27/19) when Lil Wayne didn’t show up. The veteran rapper took to Twitter, explaining to fans that difficulties with his flight caused his absence. He tweeted:

“Due to issues with the plane I’m sorry to say I won’t be able to make the show in Irvine tonight. Portland I’ll see you Friday Tune”

Has his anticipated “Funeral” album been a source of distraction from the tour? In an interview with his hometown’s Q93 radio station, Lil Wayne revealed that the album is finished and will be available by the end of the year. He dished:

“You know how it work. My album’s always done. It just takes Mack [Maine] to come in there to rack up a couple of songs and name them. That’s how it go round here. I work every day. It just take them to come in and say ‘let me get these twenty songs, can I have these and name them, and we go from there.'”

He says he approached the studio with the same methods he’s used for his entire 20-plus years-long career”

“Same formula, I can’t write nothing down, I got way too old to be trying to read something. I can’t write nothing down, I’m going straight off the top…It makes everything more valid, more valuable.”
