50 Cent Says ‘Power Book II’ Spin-Off Will Air 48 Hours After ‘Power’ Series Finale
Good news for “Power” fans! The show’s spinoff has a release date, and the series definitely won’t miss a beat. 50 Cent announced that it will air just 48 hours after the “Power” series finale.
He added a clip that shows his character Kanan sitting down with his son Shawn, who “Power” fans know he will later kill. Kanan also died in a previous season of power after a shootout with police.
Shawn visits Kanan in jail and tells him he can’t play basketball anymore. He tells him he got a job as a driver for Ghost. Kanan said he’s not surprised and asked how Ghost is treating him.

Creator Courtney Kemp made the announcement for the new series during the Television Critics Association panel in July.
“Today we are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of ‘Power.’ ‘Power Book II: Ghost will continue the journey of some of ‘Power’s’ most controversial characters.”
