Nicki Minaj Apologizes To Fans For Abruptly Announcing Her Retirement Via Twitter: It Was Insensitive
Nicki Minaj is consoling some of her die hard fans, who were shocked when she announced her retirement on social media. Responding to a social media user she writes:
I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe ???
She also promises to talk to her Barbz about her decision.
As previously reported, on Thursday (September 5th) she announced that she was retiring:
I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE
Nicki’s announcement comes amidst her plans to marry fiance, Kenneth Petty. Just last month, she opened up about wanting to walk down the aisle in the very near future. At the time, she explained,
“[We] filed for the marriage license and we still had to pick it up and I was traveling, by the time I came back, we had to renew it again. From that time, you have 90 days to get married. That was about a week ago, so now I have about 80 days.”
She added that she’ll have to put the idea of a lavish wedding on pause for now.
“I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that [so] I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later. I’ll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out. Before the 90 days is over, yes, I will be married. I’m very happy about that because my baby makes me so happy.”
No additional information as to why she’s decided to retire has been shared.
