Chance The Rapper’s Wife Shares Photo Of Newborn, Says: Postpartum Doesn’t Get Any Easier, But It Will Always Be Worth It
Chance The Rapper’s wife, Kirsten Bennett, has opened up about the realities of postpartum.
Postpartum is the time after a woman gives birth. During this period many women experience postpartum depression or “baby blues” where go through a deep sadness or emptiness. For some, it can last a couple of days, for others, it can be a long-term experience.
Bennett shared a new photo of her and Chance’s baby girl and while she suggested she’s having difficulties during her postpartum phase, she is staying positive about it.
“Mommy loves you my sweet Marli Grace. Postpartum does not get any easier- even with your second, but It will always be worth it for my babies. I can’t wait to watch you grow up”
She also had a message for body-shamers during her pregnancy.
“Body shaming is whack. Especially during pregnancy and post partum. Why do we brag about how skinny we look when we’re pregnant- and how quick we can snap back after we give birth??! I’m committed to being patient with my body this time around- even if I don’t show it. Let’s stop putting pressure on ourselves to snap back as if post-partum isn’t hard enough. #18weekspreggo #selflove“
Chance and Bennett welcomed their second baby girl on Aug. 29.
The two are also parents to four-year-old daughter Kensli.
