Superstar rapper Nicki Minaj is officially off the market! In a shocking September tweet, she abruptly announced that she was retiring from hip-hop to start a family with boyfriend, Kenneth Petty.

She told fans:

“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE”

Well, the “Chun-Li” spitter made good on her word, going relatively silent for nearly two months before announcing her new name – Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty! The couple tied the knot on October 21, 2019 according to Nicki’s Instagram.

Of course, talk show host Wendy Williams jumped at the chance to comment on this hot topic. She said:

“Nicki Minaj is married. There are some naysayers that say, ‘Why did you marry this guy, Kenneth Petty?…I understand why she married him, you know what I’m saying? She’s known by all the world at this particular point in her life. She’s the biggest thing going. And sometimes when you’re the biggest thing going, you wanna have a safety blanket; a comfort zone- and that would be somebody you grew up with.”

Wendy continued, hinting at both Mr. Minaj’s alleged sex offender status as well as her brother’s rape case:

“I think that she will probably start a family right away- and can you imagine a burgeoning belly with these burgeoning hips? I mean, the plastic of it all!…I don’t know what he does for a living. I just know that he did time in jail. He’s a sex offender. Well, she’s no stranger to that considering her brother’s in jail for sex offending. He served seven years in prison, and he’s also a sex offender…so he’s a killer and a sex offender. Well, Nicki. Congratulations!”
