Tina Lawson Reacts To ‘Proud Family’ Fan Art: Sugah Mama Was Way Older Than Me, I’m A Fly Grandma!

Tina Lawson is all for her famous family being cast as Disney’s “Proud Family” this Halloween. But she wants no parts of being compared to the grandmother of the family, Sugah Mama. She shared a photo on Instagram Thursday (Oct. 31) that showed her family as “Proud Family.” She wrote,

“Happy Halloween! This is us as The Proud Family ! I love this show but i am sorry but “ “Sugah Mama was way older than me and walked with a cane . I am a fly grandma , So she needs a makeover”

She also confirmed reports that the series is making a comeback.

“Seriously I am Proud to say that the original creator my friend Ralph Farquhar the original creator of the proud. Family , is recreating the show and bringing it back. I watched this show regularly and will be watching again. Who else loved this show?”

Also in the photo, her granddaughter Blue Ivy Carter was Penny Proud, while twins Rumi and Sir were none other than twins BeBe and CeCe Proud. And of course, Beyonce and Jay-Z were portrayed as parents Trudy and Oscar Proud.

Interestingly enough, Beyonce and sister Solange Knowles along with Destiny’s Child sung the “Proud Family” intro when it aired from 2001-2005.
