Anthony Mackie Secretly Divorced His Wife Last Year

Anthony Mackie divorced his wife just as privately as he got married.

According to reports, the Avengers star secretly filed for divorce from Sheletta Chapital in 2017. The split was finalized last year.

While the reason they parted ways isn’t made public, insiders have confirmed that they are on amicable terms. They have four children together and will share joint custody. It’s not clear how they will handle spousal or child support.

It was previously reported that Mackie and Chapital tied the knot in a secret ceremony at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic in 2014. They kept things intimate with 150 guests.

They were childhood sweethearts and had been dating off and on since seventh grade as they grew up in New Orleans.

He previously gushed about Chapital and joked,

“She used to beat me up for my lunch money in second grade…It was funny, I was coming from a very bad school and coming to a very good school. When I walked into second grade it was Dr. Seuss day. We had the hot plate out and the teacher was making green eggs and ham. I walk in and I look and I see this girl with these little ratty pigtails and skinny legs and I was like, ‘Wow!'”

At least they’ve been able to stay on good terms!
