John Witherspoon was a legacy in his own right. His funeral services were held in Los Angeles Tuesday (Nov. 5), and several came out to celebrate his life and accomplishments.
John Witherspoon’s old friend David Letterman opened up the celebration and Ice Cube, who played Witherspoon’s son in the classic Friday movies, also took the stage to pay tribute.
Others who spoke were comedians Cedric the Entertainer, Bill Bellamy, George Wallace and director Angela Gibbs.
Oscar-Award winning actress Regina King was unable to attend but offered a tribute via video.
Witherspoon’s oldest son, John David Witherspoon, also seemed pleased with the ceremony.
